Ravelry!

I got my Ravelry invite yesterday.  It is officially the. coolest. thing. EVER!  I am so excited about it, I can’t even tell you.  It will be a marvelous resource for the whole knitting community, and I can’t wait until there are even more users sharing projects.

(This might be old news, but in case it isn’t: Right now it’s in beta testing, so you can’t immediately join.  You CAN, however, sign up on the invitation list.  The amazing people running it are inviting people as the capacity allows.  It will be open for real some time soon.)

For those of you who haven’t signed up or are still waiting, here is a preview of my project notebook.

You can add WIPs, FOs, “hibernating” projects, and frogged projects.  It allows you to rate them by level of satisfaction, and search for other people’s versions, or what other people have made with the same yarn.

There is also a really neat “stash” feature.  I’ve never categorized my stash before (because I’m in denial) but this looks really promising.

My stash and my camera are packed away at the new place, and I only had three stash pictures handy, so it’s a rather dramatic underestimate of what I actually have.  But you get the idea 😉

I’m amazed at the wonderful work that has gone into the site so far. What a great idea!

  1. It looks really great, I really hope my invite comes soon. I signed up a few weeks ago and am crossing my fingers. How long did it take yours to go through?

Then again, I’m probably better off not having access to it until the end of semester since I know I’d never get any work done then!

  2. That looks pretty cool! I’ve gotten my invite and signed up, but haven’t done anything with it yet. Have to go check it out now!

  3. I’m with Robin; I have logged on but I haven’t done anything just yet. Can you recommend a good place to start? What should I do first?? Thanks! And good luck with your move. 🙂
